چکیده
Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas) is a highly commercial species with the highest production rate in aquaculture world. This has been raised on Crimean and Romanian Coasts since 1980s reports of potentially breeding wild populations those regions. However, presence this Turkish Coast Black Sea are literally unknown. Therefore, here we investigated occurrence, population density size-age structure colonies C. gigas Ordu Coasts. We found that created becoming dominant some hard substrate including rocky bottoms large rocks were used for fulfillment coastal regions to gain more land. Further, was 94.58 ind./m2 an average shell length 3.33 + 0.724 cm. Our results showed adapted creating populations, therefore management plan should be applied order reduce potential influence natural species.

Response of the Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas, Thunberg 1793, to pesticide exposure under experimental conditions.
Pesticide run-off into the ocean represents a potential threat to marine organisms, especially bivalves living in coastal environments. However, little is known about the effects of environmentally relevant concentrations of pesticides at the individual level. In this study, the suppression subtractive hybridisation technique was used to discover the main physiological function affected by a co...
متن کاملEffects of temperature and salinity on haemocyte activities of the Pacific oyster, Crassostrea gigas (Thunberg).
The Pacific oyster, Crassostrea gigas, is extensively cultivated and represents an important economic activity. Oysters are reared in estuarine areas, subjected to various biotic and abiotic factors. One of the limiting factors in aquaculture is mortality outbreaks, which may limit oyster production, and the causes of these outbreaks are not completely understood. In this context, the effects o...

In the past decades, shellfish culture has developed in a significant way around the world. However, culture areas are often subject to recurring anthropic pollution. The recrudescent presence of industrial wastes is a source of heavy metals and results in pollutant transfer towards the aquatic environment in estuarine areas. Because of their mode of life, bivalves, including mussels and oyster...

Functional characterisation of phagocytes in the Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas
Invertebrates lack canonical adaptive immunity and mainly rely on innate immune system to fight against pathogens. The phagocytes, which could engulf and kill microbial pathogens, are likely to be of great importance and have to undertake significant roles in invertebrate immune defense. In the present study, flow cytometry combined with histological and lectin staining was employed to characte...
